Hayes Revels In Midfield Role Alongside Conde

PLAYING in the same midfield as Balla Conde is proving a great learning experience for Wollongong FC player Steve Hayes.

Hayes, who has been his usual hard-working self over the opening seven rounds of the NSW Premier League season, said the former Guinean international was a tower of strength for the club.

"It is great playing alongside Balla. I really look up to him," Hayes said.

"I have already learned a lot from him.

"The way he can read a game is great."

Hayes said the united front that Wollongong players show was genuine.

"All the guys have really come together and we fight for each other," he said.

Hayes and his team will will be hoping to keep the good times rolling when Bankstown City visit Crehan Park on Sunday.
